Unpacking Macdonald

I worked with Bellevue House National Historic Site in Kingston, Ontario on a complete interpretive media plan. Bellevue House was a residence of John A Macdonald (our first prime minister, for those who aren’t from around here.) He has become, well, a controversial figure: he’s the father of Confederation, and arguably an architect of genocide, for starters… We have taken a Many Voices approach, making the house itself into a place where we investigate Macdonald and Confederation as an extension of empire, privilege, and power that continues to influence the nation today.

It has been an amazing, challenging project.
