Completed in 1919, Helsinki’s Art Nouveau central rail station, by Eliel Saarinen, has inspired a number of film sets including Batman, apparently. For us, it was the site of a massive gathering of hard-core goth-metal music ¬†aficionados that we happened upon, one beautiful summer day. Scary-looking and perfectly peaceful, the young people were there to attend a nearby outdoor concert. Apparently Finland likes its thrash music.
